our population health researchers investigate how drinking leads to poor health outcomes

ARG’s research on population health looks at alcohol-related outcomes of a group of individuals and the factors that contribute to poor health, including risk of chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes as well as the relationship between drinking and rates of injury, suicide and overall mortality. Our research findings provide essential information to inform policy and guide clinical best practice related to alcohol consumption and disease prevention. With a focus on differences among groups, our findings also help mitigate and reduce outcome disparities to promote healthier communities.
