The Alcohol Research Group, in partnership with the School of Public Health at the University of California at Berkeley, offers a training program for pre- and postdoctoral fellows. The Program is sponsored by the NIAAA and offers research training to prepare fellows for successful careers in alcohol studies.

The Advanced Alcohol Research Seminar, offered during the fall and spring semesters through UC Berkeley as course number PH 202G, is part of the training program's core curriculum and presents current studies and lectures on the basics of methodology, prevention, and epidemiology. This seminar, currently taught by Lee Kaskutas, DrPH and Sarah Zemore, PhD of ARG also features presentations by nationally renowned scientists in the field of alcohol research. "Brown Bag" lunch seminars are also offered where fellows have the opportunities for informal discussions with speakers.
