Laurie Drabble, Ph.D., M.S.W., M.P.H. Background Information and Areas of Research

Laurie Drabble is an affiliate associate scientist
at ARG and an associate professor at Currently, she is working with ARG on research related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug consumption among lesbian, gay and bisexual populations using ARG’s National Alcohol Survey series. Other recent projects have focused on enhancing the capacity of multiple systems to address the needs of substance abusing women. She served as executive director of the California Women’s Commission on Alcohol and Drug Dependencies and continues to work statewide and nationally on research and policy projects related to alcohol and drug issues among marginalized groups of women. She also serves as a researcher and liaison for the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs on the California Women’s Health Survey Coordinating Committee of the California Department of Health Services.
